Every June brings the pinnacle in grass-court Grand Slam tennis action to UK shores with the Wimbledon Championships, and with it hundreds of mentions of strawberries and cream.
Now, I would never turn down a delicious bowl of fresh, sweet strawberries and British cream – who would?! – but running a blog half-dedicated to the amazing food that is cake, I can’t help thinking tennis fans should be eating something a little bit more interesting than the traditional fruit and dairy fare.

You can now ‘tweet for tea’ in Cape Town with the invention of a Twitter-activated vending machine.
South African soft drinks company BOS has launched ‘BEV’, a vending machine that allows users to tweet to receive free ice tea.

Following on from last week’s part 1 of the best tea quotes, here is the next set of tea-friendly sayings found across the internet. This time, there is double the goodness of last time, with TEN whole quotes.
Between the Queen’s Diamond Jubilee and the Olympics, it seems like the right time to be reviewing a tea with so many connotations of Britishness. Just see their website! Victory Tea describe themselves as the “premium bulk-buy tea brand” and it’s clear to see why.
I won a trial box of 16 teabags from Victory Tea via Twitter and when the package arrived through my front door I couldn’t wait to see what was inside.

This oh-so-pretty teacup and saucer from Wedgwood’s beautiful Harlequin collection, celebrating “the heritage of decorated English teasets; embracing both classical designs and the more whimsical ones,” would be a fine addition to any tea-lover’s teaset. As with any Wedgwood or bone china product though, this will set you back a bit. But why not treat yourself?
