You can now ‘tweet for tea’ in Cape Town with the invention of a Twitter-activated vending machine.

South African soft drinks company BOS has launched ‘BEV’, a vending machine that allows users to tweet to receive free ice tea.

The machine, located in Cape Town, dispenses ice tea made from the South African Rooibos tea plant when tweets containing a specific hashtag are made.

The high-tech vending machine is also “is rigged with a series of microphones, cameras, trigger switches and sound-activated LEDs to amplify the machine’s personality,” according to a BOS press release.

Watch the video to see more about how it works:

I love it! What a great way to get tea. I can’t wait to try this if I’m ever in Cape Town.
