About

This website celebrates one of the most well-matched pairings in the culinary world:

Tea and cake.

It really is as simple as that.

I hope you will keep coming back to enjoy news, features, reviews, how-to’s, recipes and much more.

A bit about the author

My name is Maria and I set up this site because I love a good cup of tea with a slice of cake. I’ve yet to find a cake I don’t like and I’m working on the tea; Earl Grey has got some work to do to impress me.

I’m a journalist in Kent, England and my interests are varied. They range from cooking to travel, astronomy, photography, celebrity gossip and nail art. I also like weird and wonderful news stories (which I made a dedicated website for).

  1. Hi Maria.

Just wanted to let you know that I have nominated your blog for an award that I also have been nominated for (The REALITY Blog Award). I did this because I respect the quality of your writing, your professionalism and maybe just a teensy weensy little bit because I frickin’ lurve tea and cake! Seriously though, I do enjoy both your content and the concept, which inspired me to nominate you for the award. Here is the link below:-

I’d like to propose a toast, to the things that matter to us the most
Tea and cake are the perfect pairing, like Bonnie & Clyde but more caring!

    • Hi David,

Thank you so much for this! Ironically I’ve been a very bad blogger recently due to work commitments and haven’t got round to blogging in ages. Anyway, I really appreciate the nomination. Hopefully it’ll spur on my motivation somewhat!

      • You’re welcome Maria. It’s not how much you do but the quality of what you do that counts and I still stand by my nomination, although quantity is always nice, particularly when tea and cake are involved :)
